Addiction?

Digital media is everywhere now. You have digital music to buy instead of buying vinyl (I buy these, still great sound) or CDs. When you’re driving you even see it because now the billboards on the highway are digital. It’s definitely reached a new level at this point. I’m a Freelancer and plenty of my clients are focused of the digital aspect of their business or even me where advertising online is the fastest way to gain a client.

Where can you find me?

I believe I can be found pretty much everywhere. I’ve used plenty of social media apps and sites. I have an account for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Snapchat. As a Freelancer I actually own two Twitter and Instagram accounts. Twitter is the big one for me. I use it every day nonstop and there is no big reason for it. Twitter is a website/application that allows me to post my thoughts all hours of the day. My personal account is basically me talking to myself whether it was something I saw on the platform or something that happened outside of it. Pinterest is probably the second most used application for me because I can endlessly scroll and pin without even giving it much thought.

Positivity and negativity…

Believe me when I say I’ve had several positive and negative reactions towards types of media. Again, I am a Freelancer, so I see a lot of the art and online world differently. I’ve run into websites that make me cringe and seen some smaller social media platforms I would never use. I always think about functionality and aesthetics. Aesthetically if I do not like, for instance a video game, I will not purchase it. I’ve downloaded and signed up for several User Experience applications/sites and I can’t count how many times I’ve chosen to delete an account less the ten minutes later or delete an app because it was so complicated to even get to the guts of the product. If I can get both great functionality and aesthetics, I will faithfully use that product every single day.

Can anyone really be satisfied?

As I mentioned before I have a tendency to use Twitter and Pinterest a lot. I can say I’m pretty satisfied using them both more often than the others I own. Twitter again is really a space for me to talk to myself (I’m not afraid to say that). I don’t really worry about the followers or following. I will follow back or follow in general but it’s for my own peace of mind and what I want to see of my feed. For Pinterest I use it work my daily personal and work life. Being a Freelancer Pinterest brings a ton of inspiration for me to work into my client’s ideas. I can usually find my next nail look or maybe or inspiration for that tattoos I have lined up in my head.

Drowning in emails!

I unfortunately like everyone else I’m sure receives a ton of emails especially ones we do not want. I have a few email accounts, so they just stack on top of each other. I make it a point to check all account three times a day (shaking my head). Although there are a few I enjoy getting; those that do catch my attention are usually affiliated with my craft. Emails from Best Buy with discounts, new products at Creative Market and all food emails. As for everything else I usually delete them, or have it set to automatically go to junk if the emails come in way too much. The only ones I don’t delete other than what I like are my bills, but I never said I wanted that email either!

At this point I sort of rely of digital media especially the social kind. I promote myself through these platforms. I make a living off of helping others with their digital media. I won’t say it’s not something I can remove from my life but I rather not as it is doing everything to help me so far.
